APPENZELL TRAIL
 
 

The Appenzell Trail, a European culture trail, takes pilgrims heading for Santiago de Compostela from Austria to Switzerland in three days.

This pilgrimage route, which begins in Rankweil, the most significant Marian shrine in Vorarlberg, and leads to the charming monastery village of St. Peterzell in Neckertal, is just the thing to restore depleted energy reserves. Following in the footsteps of the pilgrims, the route crosses the unique cultural and scenic Appenzell region from east to west. Always in sight: the Alpstein massif.
