EASTERN SWITZERLAND WINE ROUTE

This two-day bike tour takes you through the distinguished wine-growing regions of Eastern Switzerland and past the Carthusian monastery in Ittingen.
The southern slopes of Eastern Switzerland are practically predestined for wine growing. The Carthusian monks of Ittingen were already aware of this about 800 years ago, and to this day exquisite wines are produced in the former Carthusian monastery. The route from Schaffhausen to Weinfelden passes through countless vineyards. The second stage features the green Fürstenland, which ends in the industrial corridor between Gossau and St. Gallen.
