Newsletter 1 / 2010

Dear Customers and SwissTrails fans,

We are still thick in the middle of winter, but the release of our new catalogue for 2010 heralds the summer experience that is to come! Over the last few months, we have again implemented several ideas and projects and also incorporated the ideas mooted by our customers, and thus not only our bookable offers but also our general travel information have grown more comprehensive and complete. And we remain true to our word in the editorial to the catalogue:

"Switzerland is a world champion- thanks not only to its football players, but also in the field of slow moving traffic ".

Our catalogue for 2010 is here!

You will find a paper copy in your mailbox in the next few days.

You can order more copies of the catalogue here

This is the core of our offer:

  • All the national routes in Hiking, Cycling, Mountainbiking, Skating and Canoe Switzerland are presented in the catalogue and enable you to experience this unique network of routes in any combination or variation, and comfort standards of your choice.
  • As a new feature, several regional routes have been added as well such as the "Herz route" (Heart Route) especially for the electric bike FLYER), and with this almost the entire network of routes can be booked now, with a wide coverage.
  • More than 600 accommodation options under SwissTrails contracts allow you to plan your own individual trip throughout Switzerland.
  • Our team of drivers operates between all these accommodations with their daily luggage service; in this way, you can enjoy your travels without any burdens, and with a nimble foot.
  • Our travel documentation always includes the relevant guidebooks, along with the complete set of maps showing the locations of the accommodations you have booked.
  • Our Helpline, which is a telephone line that we operate in person, is available to our guests seven days a week, from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening.

Attractive and original ideas:

  • Our fleet of rental bikes is quite something: you can now book not only the standard touring bikes, but also the high-end "Top Class" tour bikes and the electric cycles FLYER, race bikes, full suspension mountain bikes and child carriers/trailers on all the routes, to and from all stage destinations.
  • In the area of accommodation we have continued to expand our network of "Top Class Hotels", as well as the budget line "Sleep-in-the-Straw!" and camping options. Our special catalogue "straw tours" is available already.
  • Tandem tours are now available in the three-lakes district and at Lake Constance, and lovers belonging to all any age groups can re-discover and build on their harmony in the special program "Honeymoon forever".
  • We have added significantly to the racing bike tours in the Swiss Alpine passes: you can now combine 16 Alpine passes from the Bernese Highlands through Graubünden and up to Veltlin almost without restrictions into individual tours; with, of course, the reserved accommodation and the daily luggage transportation!
  • Those who like things to be particularly close to nature, romantic and particularly budget-friendly will find something to rave about in the extended formula "Bike & Camp", with the "Rivers and Lakes Tour" as a new addition for 2010. A good tip for the budget conscious is also the Jugitour Nord-Süd" with accommodation in youth hostels
  • A little bit more of comfort? Then take a look at the new "Top Class Tours", because this means 4-star hotels will be reserved for you (mostly at very attractive locations and/or with special infrastructure).
  • For hikers, there is an exciting new addition now along the Via Albula / Bernina: On foot and with a train pass (Bahnpass) for 3 or 6 days, get to know the UNESCO World Heritage site in the best way possible; for you can move around freely en route, since your luggage will be transported by dispatch riders to the next hotel.
  • And finally news from the Canoe Land: you can now book the River Rafting on the Vorderrhein and Inn, in addition to the 10 canoe tours, with SwissTrails.

We wish you plenty of fun leafing through our "world champion" of a catalogue, and we will be back again by Newsletter once the spring buds burgeon forth!
