ANDERMATT - LAGO RITOM 45 km (1560 Hm)
Crossing the Gotthard pass (2091m) on the old mule path is a special experience. The descent to Airolo takes a detour into the Val Canaria. From Airolo, the route gets serious: the ascent leads along the Strada Alta initially on to Altanca and then around in a second loop –significantly less steep than the route of the famous cable car railway – up to the Ritomsee lake.

LAGO RITOM - OLIVONE 30 km (500 Hm)
The Val Piora is home to twenty magnificent mountain lakes; the main lakes are the Ritom, Tom and Cadagno lakes which are easy to reach on foot. This pasture land is rich in rare botanical delights. From June to August, the valley is transformed into a unique mountain garden with thousands of colours and aromas. The culmination of the tour is the Passo del Uomo – from the summit, the route then runs down to the Lukmanier pass. The beautiful mountain landscapes run on through the Valle Santa Maria to Olivone.

OLIVONE - BIASCA 25 km (220 Hm)
This route, which mostly descends downwards through the Bleniotal valley, forms a charming finish to the tour. The Bleniotal valley is renowned for its romantic church towers. The most well-known are the Malvaglia (12th-13th century), Torre (12th-13th century), Aquilla (16th century) and Olivione (12th-13th century) churches. The Gottardo Bike tour ends in Biasca.
