THUR KANU

DAY TRIP ANDELFINGEN - EGLISAU 18km
The 127 km long Thur river does not flow through any lakes or artificial lakes, instead following its own untamed path with very varying water levels. In just a few hours, the river can change from slow-flowing to a raging torrent. On warm Summer days, the clear waters and romantic gravel banks are perfect for bathing and picnics. Beavers also live in the area. Although rarely seen, their claw marks can often be seen on tree trunks. As you paddle along the powerful Rhine, you will see the church of Rüdlingen up on the right bank and numerous vineyards line the route through to Eglisau. You can either bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the many picnic spots or dine at the garden restaurant in Tössegg.
