RHINE CANOE

DAY TRIP STEIN AM RHEIN - SCHAFFHAUSEN 18km
charming stretch between Lake Constance and the Rhine Falls, with its beautiful landscapes and cultural treasures, is one of Switzerland’s most popular canoeing routes. A visit to the town of Stein am Rhein is recommended before setting off. Once on your way, the town of Diessenhofen and the former abbey of St.Katharinental line the river. The river is characterised by its crystal-clear waters and pleasant bathing temperatures. Numerous guesthouses on the banks with their own landing stages invite visitors to stop for a relaxing break. Views of the Munot fortifications indicate that the end destination of Schaffhausen is approaching. Canoeing beyond this point is prohibited – you would certainly not be wise to visit Europe’s largest waterfalls by canoe!
